About the Author

The only thing Nathaniel Gee loves more than writing is supporting his wife and eight children, which is why he works as a Dam Safety Engineer. His determination to become a writer came from an inspirational school counselor who said that he would be a much better engineer than a writer. He was a well loved writer of his local newspaper, and continues writing on his blog at thegeebrothers.com, professional journals in Dam Safety, and in his favorite genres, romantic comedy and detective fiction. He also has a YouTube channel, Geelightful, where his children are far more popular than he is.

The Business Proposal

BYRON WAS ONCE a well-respected marriage counselor–until one embittered client began an onslaught of bad reviews, which caused other potential clients to balk at his so-called missing credential: He has never been married.

JULIE DOESN’T MIND being single. The well-meaning people pushing her to wed are the problem: the nagging mother, the can’t-take-a-hint coworker, and all the other acquaintances and their annoying, awkward setups. Well-intentioned or not, they are driving her crazy. She can’t help but wish she could say she was married just to get them off her back.

WHEN JULIE’S FRIEND jokingly hands her a newspaper ad seeking a platonic, pseudo marriage with a stipend attached, she wonders if it could silence her “problems” once and for all. She concludes that it just might work and answers the ad, but is she giving up on love and bargaining her future happiness away?

Of Pigs and Priests

IT’S 1557, AND FATHER YOUNG AND BISHOP GOLDHEART ARE FATED TO BE SINGLE FOR ETERNITY.

As devoted priests of the Catholic Church, the two men have committed themselves to vows of celibacy. But while their minds and spirits are devoted to their faith, their hearts ache with loneliness. Father Young has recently fallen for Fannie Porkshire, the daughter of the newest family to come to the little town of Bridgecrest. And in the neighboring town of Lushton, Bishop Goldheart has long admired Miss Denine, the owner of a local tavern.

As they both resign themselves to suffer with their feelings alone, they find new hope when Queen Elizabeth comes to the throne and officially institutes the Church of England, which now allows priests to marry. Overnight, Father Young and Bishop Goldheart become the most elibible bachelors in town. Every mother wants their daughte matched with the notable men of the church.

But as the two priests enter society in a way they never had before, they suddenly realize that their vows wer not the only thing keeping them from love. Love, while now legal, is not necessarily easy.
